Shaw Carpet
The labels of Shaw's new carpet styles made from Anso Nylon feature information concerning the recycled content of these products. Evergreen Nylon Recycling, Shaw's nylon recycling operation in Augusta, Georgia, converts post-consumer nylon carpet and converts it back in to its original material, caprolactam- the building block for nylon fiber. The Evergreen caprolactam is then mixed with new caprolactam during the manufacturing process, and new nylon fiber is made. Although Anso Nylon products receive nylon produced with Evergreen carpolactam, actual recycled content in the product will vary from sample to sample.
In addition to being beautiful, Anso Nylon carpets are extremely durable and stain resistant. But one of the best features of these products is their role in Shaw's carpet recycling program. Anso Nylon carpets can be recycled over and over again. Because Anso Nylon has been designed to be recycled, this process does not affect the carpet quality, performance, or style. All of the new Anso Nylon products offer the same top-notch features as their predecessors.
Wool Carpet
Riemer Floors offers a wide variety of Wool Carpet. Wool Carpet is always an Eco-friendly choice when choosing carpet . It is a natural material, has a low VOC (volatile organic compounds) emission rate, is bio-degradable, and a natural insulator. In addition, Wool is strong, crush-resistant, and easy to care for which means it will last longer and you will have to replace it less often than other carpet types.
SmartStrand
Stain resistant SmartStrand carpet is also eco-friendly! SmartStrand® carpet with DuPont™ Sorona® requires 30% less energy than the production of an equal amount of nylon carpet and emits 63% less greenhouse gas emissions during the manufacturing process. In addition, Smartstrand stain resistance is engineered into the fibers of the carpet and will never wear or wash off, which means less toxins into the environment. Smartstrand is featured in many Karastan carpets. 
PET
Many of our polyester carpets are comprised of PET, a polymer resin that is part of the polyester family. PET is made from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles. To learn which specific manufacturers use PET, please ask any Riemer Flooring Specialist.
