Riemer Floors of Bloomfield Hills offers many "green" friendly wood lines which use responsible forestry practices. We  offer Lyptus which is one of the best environmental stories where wood is concerned. Managed plantation grown hardwood, Lyptus grows to full maturation in approximately 15 years, and helps to repopulate the rainforest areas that for years had been destroyed by slash and burn agriculture.
Armstrong's wood program is also quite impressive. It is the only wood flooring company to ever have received the Gifford Pinchot Award by the Hardwood Forestry Fund. This award recognizes forest products companies "that demonstrate a commitment to the environment through tree planting, sustainable forest conservation, and environmental education".
