Measure Technician
Full-Time | Field-Based Position
Position Summary
Riemer Floors is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Measure Technician to support our sales team by conducting accurate on-site measurements for residential and light commercial flooring projects.
This role plays a critical part in our customer experience and operational accuracy. By handling field measurements, the Measure Technician allows our showroom sales professionals to remain focused on selling and serving customers in-store.
Accuracy, professionalism, and strong communication are essential to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer homes, builder job sites, and commercial locations to measure flooring areas
- Accurately document dimensions, layouts, transitions, stairs, closets, and specialty areas
- Identify subfloor conditions and potential installation challenges
- Capture notes and photos to support sales and installation teams
- Upload measurements into RFMS and/or designated estimating software
- Communicate clearly with sales team regarding scope, changes, or concerns
- Represent Riemer Floors professionally in the field
- Ensure measurement accuracy to reduce waste, re-orders, and job delays
- Maintain organized daily schedule and route planning
What Success Looks Like
- Measurements completed accurately the first time
- Minimal material overages and ordering errors
- Sales team remains in showroom selling
- Installation teams receive clean, complete job information
- Positive feedback from customers and builders
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in flooring, construction, or measuring preferred
- Strong understanding of flooring installation methods (carpet, hardwood, LVP, laminate, tile preferred)
- Ability to read floor plans and blueprints
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Professional communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Comfortable using tablets, mobile apps, and estimating software
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb stairs
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in occupied homes and active construction sites

Retail Sales Associate - Northville
Position Overview:
The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for managing operational and administrative tasks for the Northville location, ensuring smooth work flows, accurate data and timely customer service. Effective use of the CRM system and meticulous execution of the sales plan are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Order and Data Management:
- Processing orders, managing CRM databases, updating client information and generating invoices.
Customer and Sales Support:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, assisting on the sales floor and insuring high satisfaction levels.
- Assisting customers with preliminary pricing.
- Utilize the CRM system to prioritize, track and manage all active deals and prospects.
- Ability to work closely with designers and other sales associates.
Exceptional Customer Service:
- Provide outstanding service by addressing client needs with professionalism and expertise.
- Conduct in-depth consultations in the showroom or at clients homes to ensure tailored solutions.
CRM Utilization:
- Effectively use the CRM system to execute sales plans, manage client interactions, and track progress.
Product Expertise:
- Stay updated on flooring products, market trends, and industry best practices through ongoing training and research.
Showroom Support:
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming showroom environment for clients.
Client Consultations:
- Assist clients in making informed product selections based on their needs, preferences, and budgets.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience:
- Proven background in retail sales and service, preferably with a focus on carpet, hardwood, and other related products.
- Experience with RFMS or similar software is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently.
- Requirements:
- Flexibility to work some Saturdays and extended hours during peak seasons.
- Flexibility to travel and meet with clients on-site and attend trade-related networking events.
