Giving Back to our Community

Housing stability and opportunity are at the heart of every thriving neighborhood. That’s why we join forces with Life Remodeled for their annual 6 Day Project, a large-scale volunteer effort to revitalize Detroit communities. Our Riemer Floors team – along with our KSI Family of Brands partners – helped clear blight from vacant properties in the Denby neighborhood, improving the area around Life Remodeled’s newest Anchor Detroit Opportunity Hub. This hub will bring afterschool youth programs, workforce development, and health and wellness resources to thousands of local residents. We’re proud to play a small part in bringing more resources and opportunity to the people of Detroit.

Creating spaces where families can heal is central to the mission of the Suite Dreams Project, and we were honored to contribute to their work. Riemer Floors donated flooring materials and installation for a room makeover for a brave young boy battling Lafora Disease, a rare and devastating form of epilepsy. Designed by Ruth Casper Design Studio, this child's new Minions-themed bedroom became a joyful sanctuary filled with light and love. We’re humbled that our flooring helped complete a space that offers comfort and happiness to a local family during an incredibly challenging time.

Food insecurity impacts far too many families in Southeast Michigan. To help meet that need, Riemer team members volunteer at Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. Together with our KSI Family of Brands colleauges, we sorted approximately 10,000 pounds of produce and packaged boxes of food last year – providing over 2,200 families with meals distributed through Gleaners’ mobile pantries. It was a powerful reminder of how collective effort can help our neighbors put nutritious meals on their tables.
